My stepson was given a Glenfield model 30A by his grandparents. the rear leaf sight is horrible and we had to remove the elevator completely to get it to shoot. What options for sights are available? Looking for something adjustable but would prefer to keep open/aperture sights. Don't really want to scope it. Is the 30a essentially a 336 or 1894?

I'm still contemplating cutting down the Glenfield 30A I recently acquired to 18". I just haven't found a smith to do it.

Feb 20, 2019 · That's a beautiful 1976 Glenfield. You better buy it before I can. I'd love to find one. It's basically a Marlin 336 with birch stocks instead of walnut.
