The Vizio has a much more neutral sound profile, and it can produce a more extended low-bass. It gets louder than the Monoprice with less compression present at max volume. Also, it provides a more immersive surround sound experience. Agree up firing speakers seem to make no difference. I notice in specs the M51a is a bit shorter, which would be better for my TV, since the M512a is ½" taller, right at bottom edge of tv. Thanks for the reply.
